The Three Pigs

A new twist on a children’s classic! This one-act play is a treat for the whole family, and is the first play in The Village Stage’s new family theater program. Adapted and directed by Mary Holmes.

Cast of Characters

Hayley

The youngest of a litter of three, Hayley is the happiest and most carefree of Mama Pig’s little piggies. Hayley loves to eat chocolate ice cream cake with rainbow sprinkles, take naps in the morning sunshine, give and get hugs from Mama Pig, and snuggle in a freshly washed blankie. There are only three things that Hayley says make her lose sleep: her piggie brothers Mortimer and Twigs, and any kind of beans, with the beans being a distant third. (Mortimer is too bossy and Twigs spends too much time with his calculator.) Hayley wants to grow up in her Mama’s footsteps and join the entertainment industry; she aspires to go to the big city and become the Carvel Ice Cream’s Piggie Puss Spokes model. Hayley already knows her signature tag line, and practices it every day — “If you must eat pork, make it a Piggie Puss!” Until then, you can find her at Old McDonald’s Farm, singing, eating ice cream cake, practicing for stardom, building things against her will, and of course, sleeping.

Mama

Mama Pig’s real name is Daisy. She loves flowers, beans and her piglets, of whom she is very protective since Papa Pig mysteriously disappeared during a wind storm. Before her marriage to Papa Pig, she worked at both Disney World and Nickolodeon Studios with occasional guest appearances on Green Acres as Arnold’s love interest. She enjoys gardening, creating new bean recipes and videogaming - if she can find her glasses. Her favorite saying is: Here’s mud in your sty!

Wolf (a.k.a Wolfie)

He was born in a blizzard on a frosty mountain top!
He got his nasty snarl from his dear ol’pop
His nosey smelly sniffer does quite a job,
Better than any other wolf including his
Older brother bob!
His teeth are the sharpest of any beast around
and he’s got quite a growl with a most
growlerful sound!
He’s one lone wolf that hunts in the night
for 3 little piggies to fill his giant appetite.
He’s a wolf among wolves feared by creatures big and small
Consider yourself warned, should wolfie come to call!
Howlll!!!!

Twigs

As a child twigs was born with a calculator in his hand. He finished 1st in class, graduating with honors and a child degree in piggy psychology and stick physics. Twigs absolutely hates beans...really! He hates them. He wishes to soon be accepted into Harvard school of piggy calculations. He would like to thank his mother pig for never forcing him beans, Haley for keeping the ice cream cake on her side and Mortimer for never buying him a matching hat.

Mortimer (Mortimer Pigsley)

Favorite Hobbies: Mud wrestling and performing live in front of children. Education: Master’s degree in Pig Latin from Porksacola University in Oinksville, Illinois. Previous Play experience: The Chicken and the Pig Go Dancing!!! He also did a commercial on TV for a local store called Pigs R Us. He also appear every year at the local Pigfest during the summer showing his massive abilities in Pig wrestling.

Bunny

The Bunny, whose real name is Fluffy McBottoms, is a distant cousin to America’s most famous bunny, Bugs. Long ago, Bunny wanted to stop being a cartoon and start making music—so he came to real life, left the animated world behind, and created a new kind of music: hip-hop. It became so popular that he made a lot of money from it, and he retired last year to focus on live theater. This is Bunny’s first show.
